Portfolio & Projects

A selection of my academic and research projects.

Basin Analysis, Economic Geology

Stratigraphic and Economic Analysis of the European Permian Basin (Germany & Denmark)

This project analyzes the detailed stratigraphic and structural evolution of the European Permian Basin to highlight its depositional history and economic prospects, confirming its status as Europe's most prospective petroliferous basin by examining the key hydrocarbon systems in Germany and Denmark.

Fieldwork, Mapping, Site Investigation

Coastal Vulnerability and Adaptation: A Global Overview and Case Study of Ängelholm, Sweden

This project analyzes the drivers of coastal erosion and flooding (such as storm surge and wave runup) on a global scale and through a specific case study in Ängelholm, Sweden, evaluating the effectiveness of current hard-engineering defenses and recommending the future integration of nature-based solutions.

Quaternary Geology

Peat Core Analysis for Paleoenvironmental Reconstruction

This field and lab project involved the collection and stratigraphic analysis of peat sediment cores from two Swedish bog sites. By identifying the changing composition of plant remains (such as Sphagnum, monocots, and wood) and their decomposition rates at various depths, the study reconstructed the bog's development. A key finding was identifying the hydrological shift at Digerflöten from a minerotrophic (groundwater-fed) fen to an ombrotrophic (rain-fed) bog.

Reservoir Characterization, Well Log Interpretation (Petrophysics), Basin Analysis

Hydrocarbon Potential and Reservoir Characterization of the Buzdar Block, Southern Indus Basin, Pakistan

This project evaluates the hydrocarbon potential of the Buzdar block, an extensional regime in Pakistan's southern Indus basin , by performing a detailed analysis of well log data from the Buzdar South-01 and Buzdar South-02 wells. The study's objective is to identify and characterize the primary source, reservoir, and seal rocks and to quantify critical reservoir properties, including porosity, permeability, and fluid saturations.
